Had an enjoyable weekend with friends staying in the small wooded area. However as always camping is affected so much by your fellow campers and whilst we enjoyed the seclusion we didn't enjoy the fact that the pitches are still very close together and therefore we were disturbed well into the night by a few parties.
Also we found the facilities dirty and completely inadequate for the number of pitches. The site has so much potential but with the basic facilities being over stretched, bins not emptied in the height of summer, and lack of night time curfew - we wouldn't stay again

This was a trial run for our first family camping holiday in August. Jackie was very helpful and accommodating when I rang to check the availability.
We picked a very hot weekend but had a great time.
On arrival we were directed towards our pitch. Thankfully our 4 year old was smitten with the play area so we were able to put the tent up without his help but whilst still being able to see him!
Jackie popped round to make sure we were all ok.
The site was very spacious and there was plenty of room for the kids to run around and play various ball games without risk of being told off!
The showers and toilets were cleaned regularly and the hot water was plentiful.
We had a great weekend and will definitely visit again.

Had a great weekend with my 2 children and dog, we arrived Friday evening and left Sunday lunchtime. We had a large pitch in the main field and the kids spent all Friday evening and Saturday afternoon riding their bikes, waving at the Steam trains and generally having fun. On Saturday morning we walked along the River bank and had a short trip into Rye, about 12 miles away, which is a lovely town.
We found the site staff friendly and helpful and the facilities were clean although it has to be said, limited and the family shower rooms a little shabby. However I think this is reflected in the price just £13 per night for us three. There was also a campers fridge & freezer which proved very useful on this hot weekend.
Would I return yes, I had trouble getting the kids back in the car!

I needed a campsite for a weekend break that I was organising for the Brighton social club to which I belong. After trawling various site reviews on ukcampsite, I selected this site and in general we were not disappointed.
Being a small group, we were allocated a corner of the field where could all be together. The site is clean and spacious and for those that love that kind of thing, quiet. The toilet/shower block is small but seemed to be able to cope with the traffic using it. The only problem that arose was that the shower in the ladies's washroom failed a few times.
We found the owner and manager friendly and helpful.
There is lots to do nearby. We started off by walking the 4 miles to Bodiam Castle via Great Dixter House and Ewhurst Green. Stunning views. Then we got the Kent and East Sussex railway back to Northiam (£4 or £2 for National Trust members). There is a boat hire place nearby so one can mess about on the River Rother, too. You can also hire a 24 seater boat for a longer cruise. The National Trust properties of Smallhythe Place and Sissinghurst Castle aren't very far away either.
All in all, a good site with plenty of local interest.

Another fantastic stay at Rother Valley. The new improved showers with spanking white tiles are great, the loo and showers are spotlessly clean with plenty of hot water. A lot of hard work as been put in here and it really shows.
The owner is warm friendly and helpful: the on site warden extremely helpful especially as we're new to caravanning. Such a peaceful beautiful site with views to die for - love the drama of the little steam train coming and going - the kids love it - plenty of room for running about.
The new kids play area was a great hit too as was the nature pond. Lots to do in the area so a great base to explore this area of Kent and the Weald.
Were very impressed with the new improved woodland camping area. More pitches than last year. Feels like your own private camp site - it's great for groups. Will be back with the tent in the summer holidays.
The new 'ready to go' camping pitch with a tent already set up for hire is a great idea: we'll be bringing our friends who are new to camping for a try out.

Broadhembury Holiday Park - Ashford
Just 15 minutes from Ashford and 25 minutes from fabulous beaches, you'll be ideally placed for exploring the Garden of England. The park is divided into a family area, that is close to the play parks, the sports field and the games room, and a peaceful adult-only area in The Meadows, that is ideal for couples. A range of grass and hardstanding pitches, fully serviced or non electric, catering for all sized of tents and caravans.
On both areas you will enjoy five-star, centrally-heated showers, and private cubicles with toilet, hand basin, dryers etc. Laundry and campers kitchens, a large childrens playground, sports field, games room and television lounge. The park has CCTV and WiFi is available for a small fee. A dog walking area is provided on site. Find out more here

Turned up on short notice & was told to take our pick of available hook ups. EHUs are on 2 sides of the main field, there is also a static section a gravel area for large units & a storage section.
At the far end is a tree surrounded area with cut outs for 6/7 units there are also plans for EHUs in here next year, lets just hope it doesn't get filled with seasonal vans for weekend use.
The field is fairly level but there are a lot of rabbit holes so you can get uneven dips under the ground sheet.
The toilets & showers are adequate for the site but will struggle on busy weekends, the sinks have constant hot water & showers are 20p but you will need a couple, the meter is outside the shower door so be careful what you are flashing when you top up.
The whole site is full of fruit trees & at the right time of year you can help yourself.
Just down the road is a little bridge & compound where you can hire a variety of boats & at night there is a kebab kiosk that the locals swear by.
2 minutes up the road is a village with most things you will need including a decent chippie.
There are plenty of places to go & see within 30 minutes drive & most can be done on quiet back roads.
People have said its hard to spot the site if you don't know it but there is a clear sign up now which looks a bit strange sending you through the pub car park but its not a problem.
The owners live on site & are always around & are friendly & very helpful, at night it is very quiet, the trains run most days in season & do the odd night run with meals served, strange seeing smoke by moonlight coming over the trees but for the older campers the smell of coal, steam & hot oil is very nostalgic.
Now the main question, would I return, probably not but not because of the site, we go camping to sea fish & it is all shale beaches in this area, as we both have bad legs it is a problem walking but if the site was in a different area then I wouldn't hesitate.

A really pleasant site. Friendly and helpful welcome at the caravan which serves as reception, checked in and found our own pitch. Easy to find on the A28 but not disturbed by noise from the road. Facilities are not fantastic but they are perfectly ok. The small wooded pitches are great, you feel very tucked away in your own little niche. Very quiet site, no noise at all in the evening (though the site was quite empty). The lack of artificial lights around the site also meant that we could see the stars really clearly. The site is well placed for visiting Romney Marsh, Rye and Hastings.
Would definitely go back if in the area again.

We visited Rother Valley for 4 Nights at the beginning of September and found a very special place.
It is a simple site consisting of one large field, however the feature is a small copse off the field with private pitches making for a very secluded escape. Toilets and showers were all spotless and masses of hot water at very clean sinks.
The owners were very pleasant and helpful.
The pub at the entrance to the site served a good sunday roast and there is plenty to do if the weather turns.
All in all an excellent site that we shall be returning to in the future

A warm welcome awaits from friendly staff. A clean and tidy site with a nice secluded area for tents at the back (offers your own alcove) and a larger field right next to the Steam Railway (which only runs past from about 11am to 4pm). Dish washing facilities, toilets and very warm showers. Unlike another review I was able to have a shower and hairwash (with long hair) with 1 x 20p. There is a lovely - dog friendly - boat trip (Newenden to Bodiam Castle)just down the road where you can have a cream tea in the garden before getting aboard. From Newenden there is miles of riverside walks in both directions and if you want to walk to the Castle it takes about 1 1/2 hrs (you can get the train or boat back). The Steam Train - also dog friendly - goes to Bodiam Castle and can be caught from either Northiam, close to the campsite, or Tenterden a 20 minute drive. Both are well worth a visit. Once at Bodiam there is either a nice tea bar or pub opposite. Historic Rye is 7 miles away with a supermarket en-route and Camber Sands is only 10 miles away with a lovely long sandy beach. As a female camping on my own with my dog I felt totally at ease. I would definitely recommend for a short break.

We stayed here for a long weekend with our 2 children - 11 & 16. The site is divided into two, with a large field with pitches around the edge, and a separate part with wooded 'coves' ideal to pitch a tent in each one. We stayed in the wooded section & although it was a bit of a hike across the toilets / showers, it was worth it. Very private and hundreds of bunnies and dragonflies! Spoilt slightly on the 2nd & 3rd night by inconsiderate campers who think that because they can't see you - you can't hear them - playing music & shouting at kids very early in the morning! but you do get those campers everywhere unfortunately! The toilets are due to be refurbished which will be good. The steam train to Bodiam Castle was excellent - really exciting. No playground, but huge field great for kids; cycling, ball games, kites etc. Will definitely return!
