We have never been to a site with pool and entertainment before so this was a really new experience for us! On arrival reception was very easy to find and we were checked in an at our pitch within a few minutes. Nice large pitches (we have a huge tent), but a very narrow parking space alongside.
My biggest piece of advice would be to specify that you want a pitch away from the road (I wish someone had told me!) our tent backed onto the 'b road' and initially it didn't seem to busy, however from 5am on Monday morning the road was really busy, huge lorries just metres from our tent (they were screened, by trees and a bank but you couldn't ignore the noise), loads of cars and motorbikes zooming and the overall noise was awful, you couldn't have a conversation over it - however after 10 am it became more bearable. Just a few pitches in from the road though, the traffic noise was hardly an issue at all - so be warned. I did complain to the campsite as we were the only tent on the site and there were at least 60 tent pitches, yet we were put against the road when it really wasn't necessary - they did give me our last night half price which I thought was very decent.
At this time of year it was REALLY quiet the kids were often the only 4 people in the whole pool! Had a bit of a run in when they purchased an inflatable ring in the campsite shop, to be told they couldn't use it by the pool life gaurds, however the site did give us a full refund for it when we pointed out how ridiculous it was.
The shower blocks were a little dated, however they were superbly warm and there was loads of lovely hot water which we needed as it was -1 overnight! 4 blocks and 3 showers in each, so guess it could be a bit busy in the summer months
The entertainment was OK, not exactly my cup of tea, but harmless enough and the children had a great time (they are teenagers and not easily impressed!)
We ate in the bar one night, food was good although the ordering at the bar was a bit painful, I think the girl was new! Had to moan about one part of it, we were told the meal came with Crusty brown bread, but they supplied 2 slices of cheap brown rubbish - however they did sawp it for garlic bread when we pointed it out to them (the crusty was unavailable!)
On the whole we had a great holiday, the few problems we encountered were well handled by the management.
One final thing which left us a little miffed, we were threatened with having to pay for a half day extra as we had not vacated the pitch by 10am, this was at 10:05, we had until 11 or else! This seemed very mean considering they had at least 60 free pitches and we had everything out of the tent and just the tent itself to come down, so we were not sitting sunning oursleves!
I would recommend the site and will go back again, but not at high season!
This is a very pretty site with spacious tidy pitches. There are four very clean toilet blocks which are inspected regulary. The main complex has two swimming pools. One outdoor and the other indoor. Both are very clean, but the water is cold. The lounge which the good nightly entertainment takes place, has the most picturesque setting and overlooks a lake. Children are well catered for by having a large indoor soft play facility. Outside, there are two play areas and peddloes are available for hire on the lake. Sammy seahorse and friends are also a great hit with the kids. Food in the restaurant is a fair standard but the snack kiosk is rather greasy. All staff are very friendly and make your stay enjoyable. This is our favourite park and would recommend to all.
We arrived the day after the kids broke up for the main summer holidays. Had booked a normal pitch but decided we liked the look of the superior ones better, there were 2 wardens around most of the time, they were very helpful and arranged the change for us.
The pitches were the biggest and cleanest we have found anywhere. There were 3 toilet/shower blocks all immaculate. The site had something for everyone and although quite commercial, it wasn't in your face and if you didn't have to go through the arcade to get into the other facilities as in alot of other bigger camps. The entertainment was excellent even having arranged events for teens (don't forget their footy boots!) Saying this though when we were sitting in the 'van it was quite peaceful and we had many b'b'q's in our 'garden', (well the pitch was so big we felt we had our own garden!) Will definately go back.
Big well run site. Very busy even in April. The bar was packed in the evenings so seating or even floor space was at a premium. The grass pitch we had was flat but the grass is over hard gravel so therefore difficult to get the tent pegs in. The road that runs along the side of the site has occassional heavy goods vehicles passing by often right through the night. This is a problem in a tent as the very hard ground vibrates as these lorries drive past. As a fisherman I would suggest that the owners consider an additional re-stocking of their lake if they are to advertise fishing on site. Facilities are good if a little over crowded ( including the pool ). Toilets are clean & warm.
What a great site. Went to catch the end of the Fairford Air show. The facilities were excellent. Toilets were clean...... and kept clean. On site security was good (man on moped kept a regular patrol) the swimming pool and water shutes were fab. The evening entertaiment was very good and of a high standard the kids had a great time. The adventure playground and crazy golf were a good laugh. On site shop well stocked. All in all FAB ! If you want a quiet trip this is not the place however if you want to wear the kids out come on down! will be coming back next year! wish we could have stayed longer. A bit pricy but well worth it!

Just got back from this very good site. The first thing that i was pleased with was the size of the pitches, easily fitted 9 berth dome tent, car and trailer plus gazeebo. Also it is the first site I have visited to find you are at least the recommended 6 metres apart from the next tent.
The site has a great club, swimming pools and the staff are very friendly and helpful. There are plenty of amenities with 4 toilet/shower blocks so you are never far away.
The price I found to be very good under £15 per pitch for up to 6 people inc electric. We will definitely be returning here again but beware you need to book well in advance as it is very popular but not overcrowded
We spent a fantastic week at this site, I was a bit worried about going after reading some of the previous reviews, however the site was clean the toilet blocks although old were regularly cleaned. The staff were all pleasant & the entertainment was very enjoyable. The best thing was the indoor swimming pool with its large slide, & it is free. Lots to do even if the weather is bad. Its also nice to wake up in the morning & see little bunnies running around ( great on the BBQ ) We will be going again.
We visited the hoburne site for the swimming pool and the entertainment as we usually visit quieter sites. We will not be returning to this site. We first arrived on sammys birthday weekend so the entertainment was solely for kids. This didnt change even after the weekend.
The pitches were ok but the toilets were outdated and the toilets took ages to flush if someone had previously been before you. Often there were out of order toilets too. The showers were dreadful! They were old and push button which was very inconvinient.
The site was ok weekdays in the way of noise, however weekends the site was fully booked which meant that there was alot of noise, well into the night!
The site isnt bad for kids entertainment in the evenings, however we didnt have any kids in our party. The site does have a nice lake with peddalboats which was very good.
I wouldnt recommend this site especially because of the toilet blocks. The chemical waste facilities are emptied in the same place as the waste water and the dirty water did tend to come back at you.
July 2004 We have been twice to this site this year and already to book again for a week in 05. We on both occasions found the site to be excellent and so much for the three of us to do. The wardens are very helpful but you do feel like they are watching you a lot and do a check around the site in their car several times a day. The reception staff aren't very welcoming and do ignore you quite alot. However we are very much looking forward to returning and a visit to the farn shop on the way to Cirencester is planned as they sell ace sausage.

August 2004 We were a bit wary from other peoples reviews about going to this campsite,we were pleasantly suprised and had a fabulous week long holiday there.
Toilet blocks were kept spotless,ok a little dated and it was push button shower, but that was no problem at all!! The bins were emptied regular thankfully cos they did seem to accumalate an awful lots of wasps!! grass kept nice regulary maintained as soon as someone vacated pitch the mower man was there cutting it and tidying it up!
Great place to take the children plenty of concrete roads/paths for them to cycle skoot or skate on,drivers were also careful as there were signs everywhere stating children were playing, the playarea/playground was very good and was closed at dusk (i imagine to stop any kids hanging round)crazy golf wasn't the best i have seen could do with updating, but it was cheap kids love it and can play as much as they like!
The clubhouse provided family entertainment (bingo, kids club etc..) also restaurant which we did not try but friends said it was very good! The pool area (indoor) was extremely good with a water slide which went into shallow water so little ones could safely go down! kept all clean, the outdoor pool was a little cold for ourselves but people seemed to be enjoying themselves in there!!
The campsite has 2 roads either side which can get busy at times this caused us no problems but i imagine it might cause some probs for others, we also liked there generous sized pitches we did notice there were a few a little smaller, but all seemed to have a hard standing for your car ours was like a long drive which could easily accomodate 2 cars,Tescos few miles down road in Cirencester also well stocked and resonably priced minimarket on site, with all the usual gifts food etc..... we will definetely go back again!! Very Happy Campers!!
August 2003 We visited this campsite for a long weekend with my brother and his family who were first time campers. Thankfully they weren't put off camping by the crowded nature of the pitches and the noise which went on well past midnight. However, we will all be visiting quieter sites in future. Despite there being plenty of showers and loos, they were dirty and some out of order which in the extremely hot weather was unfortunate. On the upside, the wardens kindly jump-started my brother's car for him! Will not be visiting again.
August 2003 Cotswold hoburne is a very good site for the family plenty to do around the Cotswolds, Swindon market is worth a visit on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, with a car boot sale on the days stated.
There is entertainment on the site but it was on the poor side this year. To say there was a few undesireables on the site is an under statement, but overall it was a pleasant 2Wk break.
If anyone books a rally there I would definitly go.
1 - 3 August 2003 We visited this site as a first weekend into camping, new tent and all ! Booked the site two weeks prior telling them that we have a large tent (9 man Aztec Asilo Plus) and were allocated a pitch that was surposed to be large enough in a corner plot. You pay in advance and cancellation needs a written confirmation....be warned. When we arrived, booking in was quick but we found someone already occupied our allocated pitch. His (next door) was too damp. It then took over an hour to find us a suitable pitch with the wardens in two-way conversations with the office. This wouldnt be a problem but meant we started pitching at 8pm (a bit late) Apparently the wardens tell the office which pitches are suitable for tents and sizes etc but this never gets recorded. In the end we were upgraded to a 'super pitch', which was nice, but of no use since the 'super' bit is an area of gravel for a caravan awning ! The wardens are very good and work hard to sort out your pitching problems. The site itself is large and has a central area with indoor and outdoor pool, kids play area, outdoor tennis and mini golf, bar, and entertainment area. The last two get very busy in the evening, and since we had great weather, we also found the pools very busy. Food is available and looked OK (we didnt try any) The toilet blocks were clean most of the time, but are ageing. The showers are very, erm, basic, with a push button controlled shower timer. No where to put your cloths (they could do with an inner curtain like caravan club sites). The water was cold at times. It is true what others have written - the site is noisy especially in the evening and doesn't seem to become quiet until very late (past midnight). Kids seem to enjoy the site the most, although I guess the bar is very popular with adults :). Outside the site there are several lakes and I was astonished to find parking cost £6 (we only wanted to park for 2 hours). You make your own mind up if this is reasonable. There are two nice pubs in South Cherney serving good food. We enjoyed the weekend, but probably wont be going back to this site. I can see why others like it. My kids enjoyed the facilities but they can entertain themseves wherever they are!

July 03 When we 1st arrived at the site we were pleased to notice that the site had many toilet and shower blocks scattered around the sites with the sinks for washing the dishes at the end. We have been to many sites where there is only one and a long trek to get to them can be a pain. We usually go for sites in the country and for a little peace and quiet, we picked this one for a change as we liked the idea of the water park as we wanted to do jet skiing and take our dingy out on one of the lakes. unfortunatly we didnt get to do either, the lake that advertised to hire jet ski's no longer did it so, and the place where we wanted to take out our dingy wasnt within easy reach of the campsite like we 1st thought and charged a HUGE £6 to park the car. The site wasnt quiet atall and we had the family from hell pitched right next to us. On the up side though the club house was nice and very spacious, drinks were cheap enough also. Had lots for the children although we were a couple on our own camping. The boating lake was nice with pedloes and canoes. Nice indoor and outdoor pool, they got very busy though and the water wasnt very warm. Well equipped shop, crazy golf, great play area indoor and out for kids. We took are bikes it was nice to ride around the site and go around the water park, looking at the map we had been given we thought all the lakes were linked together so we could ride around them all but we were very dissapointed to find that all of the lakes were seperated by very busy roads so dreams of riding our bikes through lakeland and of nice leisurly rides in the countryside where shattered when we found ourselves riding on our bikes nervously on busy main roads. We would recommend on family parks like this that thet have a small seperate area for adults only.
