 Fantastic site. Views beautiful. So calm and peaceful.
Facilities immaculate and host very helpful and accommodating.
Absolutely perfect for us. Used it as an overnight stop on our way southbound from the Borders in Scotland but hope to be back again to explore area.
Loved it! Thankyou 😀

A super little friendly campsite.
It was immaculately clean,
The owners were really helpful,
There are lovely walks from the site and under floor heating in the shower!

This is one of the nicest sites we've stayed at. It was beautifully kept and the facilities are spotless. Val and Fred were really friendly and helpful, Fred helped us put our caravan on the pitch.
They have a freezer at the entrance which is kept stocked with icecreams lolly ices and doggy icecreams very reasonably priced.
It's a small peaceful site, with beautiful views all around.
There are no local shops but it is only 4 miles Kendal and supermarkets.
The price they charge for the pitches is very good value, the pitches are level, with electric hookup and a water tap.
We are so glad to find this little gem and will definitely be returning.

Lovely owners & hassle free arrival.
Both the toilets and shower room was immaculate.
Beautiful location and very peaceful.

The Ashes is a lovely site. Easy to get to, just a few minutes off the M6. Very peaceful, quiet site in beautiful surroundings.
The site has great facilities, with each pitch being fully serviced.
The toilets and showers were very clean and worked well. The underfloor heating in the showers is an added bonus.
There is an enclosed dog run and field next door to walk your dog. Kendal is a 10 minute drive.
The owners are extremely helpful and even helped us to park and set up.
Highly recommend.

Lovely safe site for a solo traveler.
Have all the facilities you may need, own water tap with drain, EHU, 24/7 toilets and showers, they even have a hairdryer ☺️
The family who run it are so helpful I will definitely go back.
Very quiet area surrounded by farm land, just a few minutes from Kendal Town.

Absolutely perfect in every way. A very well maintained and serviced property with hosts who are exceptional.
I was short a couple items which they were more than happy to provide. Again, having difficulty reacting the attached canopy room. They were there to assist.
Could not be happier about my stay and plan to return time and again next season🤠

Overnight stay, on way to Skye, only a couple of miles from the M6. Warden met us with Kendal mint cake - lovely!
He showed us to our fully serviced pitch and guided us into position thanks.
Site was lovely clean and all facilities conveniently to hand. Kendal itself is worth a visit only 4 miles away.
Great find, thoroughly recommend.

An absolutely fantastic site situated just off the M6 at junction 37. Made very welcome on our arrival, shown to our pitch which was nice & level.
The site is so peaceful with fully serviced pitches. A small toilet/ shower block but never once had to wait to use any of the facilities.
We booked it to explore The Howgills & The Yorkshire Dales, it was in an ideal location for this but you could easily explore The Lakes as well.
Already planning our return visit 🥰

The Ashes is a beautifully maintained site with 24 pitches for campervans/caravans, set on the edge of a tranquil hamlet just 6 miles or so from the M6.
Despite being so convenient for the motorway, there is no discernible traffic noise.
The site is surrounded by rolling hills with sheep and cattle grazing.
They couldn't do enough for you. We didn't use the showers with underfloor heating but the toilet facilities were clean and well equipped.
Couldn't find any pubs within easy walking distance so we settled for a bottle of wine, the views, peace and quiet instead.
We'll certainly be back next time we're trekking up or down the M6.

Beautiful quiet adults only site in serene countryside not far off J37 M6. Facilities are immaculate.
Toilets and showers shiny clean.
Free WiFi. Fully serviced pitches.
Handy for exploring Kendal. A real gem.

This was our first stay at The Ashes and we had a great time.
The site is in an excellent location with stunning views of the surrounding countryside hills and fells.
The sound of sheep and cows in the neighbouring field is very soporific.
The pitches are hardstanding and fully serviced.
The site is kept immaculately clean and well maintained.
The shower and toilet facilities are excellent, and kept spotlessly clean.
The site is located within easy reach of Kendal which has several supermarkets and town centre shops.
We will definitely be retuning at some future date.

Met on arrival and helped position my caravan.
Exceptionally pleasant owners, nothing was too much trouble.
The site is compact, spotlessly clean and well positioned for Windermere.
All fully serviced pitches at a great price.
We will return next year…. For a longer stay.
