 Large site with easy access, both grass and hardstanding pitches available.
Most pitches have a great view out to sea or the the award winning beach, easy access to the beach direct from the site.
There is a adjacent bar and restaurant, can't comment on the food as we did not eat there.
There is a small shop nearby which has most of the essentials.
Facilities are ok though a bit dated, The nearest block to us was closed and it was a long walk to the alternative one.
Smoo Cave is a short walk away and well worth a visit though access is via a steep path with step.

Fabulous views. Friendly staff.
An easy Campsite to find with good access.
We enjoyed our stay but nearly got blown of the beach!
The toilets were a little tired though.

A very pleasant site with wonderful views,
Very efficient booking in at reception allocated pitch to use,
Plenty of space between units, facilities on site clean and functioned well
Overall a very pleasant stopping site.

Great facilities and plenty of space.
There was even a campers kitchen which made cooking possible even with wind and/or rain.
A beautiful location overlooking the sea.

This site was one of our stop overs on the NC500 trail greeted by helpful and friendly staff,
Facilities were amazing clean and tidy, the sea view from our motor home was amazing
Only down fall was that we didn't have a lot of time for another night there
Defo be back next year with more time to have a few nights on site
Highly recommend this site you wont be disappointed

We are long yim and visitors to this site. This was the first time since the lockdowns we have been. As always the staff are helpful and the site clean.
As tent users there was tons of room and no booking requirements. If needing hookup then you have to book.
There is a new extended shower block and some new hard standing for campervans.
The pandemic has had a few knock on effects. Tourist Information has closed. As has the Oasis restaurant.
For our stay there seemed to be three times the number of motor homes. Staff confirmed that they were seeing an increase. It did not affect our stay. There were a few changes at Balnakiel village but a lot of the regulars are still there.

This campsite was situated looking onto the most amazing scenery. Sango Beach with pure white sand and turquoise water its breathtaking! The facilities they have are amazing.
The toilets are spotless and the big family shower rooms are fantastic with big heaters on the wall to make sure you don't get cold and they are constantly being cleaned - an absolute 10 out of 10!
It also has a pot wash area and launderette which is just brilliant.
The Smoo Caves is definitely worth a visit whilst staying here too and the Smoo Hotel for some fish and chips and a beer afterwards - just a fantastic place.

Site location is great, set on malty lays with good views of the sea
The staff that I met were friendly and helpful and would visit again.
Local shop is in easy walking distance and Smoo caves is within walking distance

Beautiful location, helpful staff. The site was not fully open at our visit but the scenery and, weather more than made up for any ‘luxuries ‘ ie shower & loo.
Would definitely recommend a visit

We arrived at the campsite around 7pm so it was very dark, we were quite worried our booking wouldn't stand with having to arrive before 5pm. Luckily they had loads of spaces left and our original booking stood.
As it was dark we never got a real appreciation for the campsite until the morning. Our pitch was right on the edge of the campsite, giving an amazing view of the bay.
There was great facilities, a kitchen area for washing dishes, plenty of recycling bins, etc. The only thing is the shower block was a bit cold! But I guess that goes with the time of year - so not much can be done there.
Overall an amazing campsite, and one I really wanted to stay on our NC500 route because of the amazing bay! The woman who checked us in was super nice and friendly too!
I wish we could have stayed longer in the morning to appreciate the beautiful campsite :)

Fantastic location, excellent facilities, spectacular views and friendly welcome.
Close lots of places to visit. We had fantastic weather, but I imagine it would be stunning in any weather.
By far the best site on the NC500.

Excellent site. Good position, 2 beaches in front, shop/garage on one side and pub/restaurant on the other.
Well organised and maintained, good pitch layout and spacing. Good facilities, clean and modern.

Lovely site with good amenities and fantastic sea views.
Lovely beaches in several coves. Viewing point just off site for Whales, Seals etc.
Spar shop very short walk from site and a take away restaurant / pub adjacent to site.
Very pleasant stay.
