We have just returned from a lovely weekend at Doe Park and were very impressed by everything about the site.

As first time caravan-towers we were a little apprehensive about parking up when we arrived but all the pitches are very big and we managed to reverse in with the minimum of trouble!

Two excellent toilet blocks where 20p will allow you plenty of time for a nice hot shower.

The two pubs in nearby Cotherstone are well worth a visit and only a 15 to 20 minute walk either through the sheep-field or down the main road and over the bridge.

The site is very well kept and clean and we received a wonderful welcome from Alison and the team.

We spent a lot of time chatting to people who are seasonal pitchers or tourers who come back every year - which is a good indication of how good a site is.

Dog friendly, pubs within walking distance - what more do you need!

Doe Park was recommended to us by friends who have been there several times, pleased they did. It's a very nice site well kept and with first class facilities. The hard standings were perfect with lots of room between other vans, a nice change from some of the sites we have been on.

Surrounding area very nice with some beautiful villages around, nice walks around the site but can get busy with dog owners, us being one.

Will stay here again as it very nice and only a couple hours from home.

Stayed for two nights, lovely site, good sized pitches and we were lucky in having a choice of pitch. Easy to get the van to. A short walk to Cotherstone to the pub. Bit longer to Mickleton and it's pub. Two toilet blocks one more modern than the other, but both clean. 20p needed for the shower and this gave ample time, also plenty of space in the showers. Lots of walks from the site and the reception will lend maps of walks. Also sell Brymor icecream which was perfect on a hot Sunday afeternoon. Great views all round. Enjoyed it and we will visit again.

This camping site was a fanfastic find, roomy hardstanding on a nice layout, friendy staff indeed. Very relaxed and nice to see children could play about on a decent size piece of grass. Loads of walks around the area 2 lovely villages very close, from this site long walks for dog owners or walkers with lovely views. You could not ask for more. Did not like the 20p shower, fine to get a wash but I don't like to be timed you got 10 mins but I felt I had to hurry as only 2 showers on our block and I knew ladies were waiting, the next block had 2 showers not enough in my opinion but don't let that put you off its a wonderful spot and we will come back to explore more in the year

This was our first time to Doe Park and we stayed two nights over the weekend. What can I say its in beautiful settings and although its a fairly large site the spacing makes it feel smaller. Greeted warmly and we bought some lovely ice cream from the shop! Short drive to Barnard Castle for fish and chips from 149. Children stroked horses in morning in near by fields. Toilets are adequate, would say that I wouldn't use the one shower mainly the 20p slot just doesn't work for me so I showered in the van. Lovely and friendly and children were able to play football on front grass. Will return.

Just returned home from a two night stay here. Pitches are great we had hard standing. Toilets very clean. Showers take 20p for 10 mins which was plenty of time. Great facilities and some beautiful surroundings. Very quiet site. This site is in easy reach of shop in village and a short drive to barnard castle.

Great site. Easy access off a B road. Friendly reception. Site separated into different areas so it's quiet. Clean toilets and showers. 20p needed for showers but it lasts ages. Great dog walking areas either by the river or across the fields to the old railway line and then you can walk for miles. The other half didn't get chance to do a spot of fishing, it had rained quite a lot and the river was quite high and fast but he said it looked 'promising' so we'll have to go back even if just for that. Fish and chip van visits once a week. Not the best for the money but ok. Stock up on your food as just a small shop for essentials in the village. 10-15 min walk into local village, Cotherstone, the Red Lion pub is dog friendly, great old pub that hasn't changed in years. Nice, friendly landlord who keeps a nice pint of real ale with a couple of rotating guest beers and everyone in the pub talk to each other 😃. Can't comment about the other pub as we weren't allowed in with the dog, so they missed out on us buying a meal and drinking there. A good pub to take the dog to and have a meal is The Crown in Middleton on Tees. It looks posh when you go in but they welcome dogs no problem. It was full in there when we went yet the pub up the road where dogs aren't allowed was empty!

We will be back.

Well I would like to say that this is a gem of a site.

On arrival into the park we were welcomed by smiles and waves from staff and locals. The warm welcome at reception made us feel really welcome, we were shown a few pitches for our trailer tent to be pitched on. The pitches were flat and grass cut very low which made the pitching of the trailer tent so much easier.

Once set up in the summer heat, we went to the reception area to sample the local made ice cream at a very good price.

The Fish & Chip van on the thursday night that came into the site was 100% value and made the night easier as we did not have to cook.

Showers and toilets were clean and well maintained.

Rubbish bins etc were taken away twice a day.

Overall this is a site is a excellent site that is well maintained and looked after all the time.

We will be returning to the site very soon.

Just back from a wonderful weekend at Doe Park Caravan Site and have to say we thoroughly enjoyed it. Very easy access to the site past Barnard Castle on a nice B road. Everything was top notch from the beautiful entrance to the hard standing pitches to the toilet block (spotlessly clean and bright and smelling nice!) to the reception building to the friendliest check-in ever! I particularly like how the site is laid out in individual paddocks making for a more private feel in each, with nice trees/shrubs separating each of them. Also it's 'one price' not adding on extras for awning/dogs etc.

Loads of walks directly from the site - and a lovely dog walking field at the back. Our lot particularly enjoyed the river at the bottom of the field which is a short cut into the village and brings you out at the bridge. As it was quite windy one day we changed our planned walk, wanting something more sheltered so we asked at reception for suggestions. Was pleased to find several binders of local walks and was told about the river walk to Romelkirk (came back along the old rail lines) - which we did.

Lovely area with loads to do besides walking (High Force - Barnard Castle close). Nice pub the Red Lion in Cotherstone (opens from 7pm) that takes dogs (no food). The Fox and Hounds just down the road is No Dogs Allowed so can't comment there. Loved the nearby village of Romelkirk and the Rose and Crown.

The other half usually doesn't like to go back to the same places, but he definitely want's to return to Doe Park so that's saying something!

Good access and easy to find. We received a friendly and informative greeting. Site split into paddock areas with a choice of good size, level, open pitches. Very quiet location and ideal for all local attractions. 1 large and 1 small toilet block - both very clean - showers 20p but you get a long hot shower. We stayed for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
