Great site. Easy access off a B road. Friendly reception. Site separated into different areas so it's quiet. Clean toilets and showers. 20p needed for showers but it lasts ages. Great dog walking areas either by the river or across the fields to the old railway line and then you can walk for miles. The other half didn't get chance to do a spot of fishing, it had rained quite a lot and the river was quite high and fast but he said it looked 'promising' so we'll have to go back even if just for that. Fish and chip van visits once a week. Not the best for the money but ok. Stock up on your food as just a small shop for essentials in the village. 10-15 min walk into local village, Cotherstone, the Red Lion pub is dog friendly, great old pub that hasn't changed in years. Nice, friendly landlord who keeps a nice pint of real ale with a couple of rotating guest beers and everyone in the pub talk to each other 😃. Can't comment about the other pub as we weren't allowed in with the dog, so they missed out on us buying a meal and drinking there. A good pub to take the dog to and have a meal is The Crown in Middleton on Tees. It looks posh when you go in but they welcome dogs no problem. It was full in there when we went yet the pub up the road where dogs aren't allowed was empty!

We will be back.

Well I would like to say that this is a gem of a site.

On arrival into the park we were welcomed by smiles and waves from staff and locals. The warm welcome at reception made us feel really welcome, we were shown a few pitches for our trailer tent to be pitched on. The pitches were flat and grass cut very low which made the pitching of the trailer tent so much easier.

Once set up in the summer heat, we went to the reception area to sample the local made ice cream at a very good price.

The Fish & Chip van on the thursday night that came into the site was 100% value and made the night easier as we did not have to cook.

Showers and toilets were clean and well maintained.

Rubbish bins etc were taken away twice a day.

Overall this is a site is a excellent site that is well maintained and looked after all the time.

We will be returning to the site very soon.

Just back from a wonderful weekend at Doe Park Caravan Site and have to say we thoroughly enjoyed it. Very easy access to the site past Barnard Castle on a nice B road. Everything was top notch from the beautiful entrance to the hard standing pitches to the toilet block (spotlessly clean and bright and smelling nice!) to the reception building to the friendliest check-in ever! I particularly like how the site is laid out in individual paddocks making for a more private feel in each, with nice trees/shrubs separating each of them. Also it's 'one price' not adding on extras for awning/dogs etc.

Loads of walks directly from the site - and a lovely dog walking field at the back. Our lot particularly enjoyed the river at the bottom of the field which is a short cut into the village and brings you out at the bridge. As it was quite windy one day we changed our planned walk, wanting something more sheltered so we asked at reception for suggestions. Was pleased to find several binders of local walks and was told about the river walk to Romelkirk (came back along the old rail lines) - which we did.

Lovely area with loads to do besides walking (High Force - Barnard Castle close). Nice pub the Red Lion in Cotherstone (opens from 7pm) that takes dogs (no food). The Fox and Hounds just down the road is No Dogs Allowed so can't comment there. Loved the nearby village of Romelkirk and the Rose and Crown.

The other half usually doesn't like to go back to the same places, but he definitely want's to return to Doe Park so that's saying something!

Good access and easy to find. We received a friendly and informative greeting. Site split into paddock areas with a choice of good size, level, open pitches. Very quiet location and ideal for all local attractions. 1 large and 1 small toilet block - both very clean - showers 20p but you get a long hot shower. We stayed for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

A beautiful site where a working farm has diversified in to tourism. We stayed at this site for just one night and it is high up on our list to return for a longer stay. When we arrived about 19:15 the reception was closed but there was a whiteboard outside giving us our plot location so not a problem at all. The farmer who lives in a house very close to the site was very hospitable and helpful and showed us around a shortcut to the village and we followed the path which took us about 10 minutes to walk to a lovely pub called the Horse and Hounds where the food and drink was fantastic. The site is split into paddocks which make it seem much smaller than it actually is and there is a toilet block on the two paddocks nearest to the reception which are spotless and warm. The toilets are spacious and free to use but there is a 20p charge to use the showers so you need to make sure you have spare coins but only one coin is enough to give a very long shower. The site is dog friendly and well-behaved children are also welcome. The site is still really quiet and the sounds of the night include owls hooting with lovely fresh and clear air to breathe. There is a good bus service nearby so visits to local attractions such as Barnard Castle are within easy reach without you having to worry about driving or parking.

Well had to check this out after reading the reviews, and believe them all guys! This was a very well spaced out site that offered a quiet serene stay, just sorry it was only one night this time. The staff could not have been more helpful and offered a few choices to put our American RV. For all we are self sufficient I had a good nose around the facilities which were spotless. The only thing I could comment on is that there didn't appear to be much for kids, but being selfish and having no kids suited me. Short walk into the village and that contained two pubs, one was the locals real pub The Red Lion and the other was smart, friendly and did a good selection of meals. Sorry forgot the name but only within 50 yards of each other. Will I visit again? I sure will well done Doe Park, good value as well compared to a lot of sites I have stayed on.
