I've never been on a site with so much space between vans the pitches are so spacious
The site couldn't be set in more beautiful surroundings perfect gorgeous unspoilt countryside
10 mins drive from Barnard castle it's high street coffee shops antiques shops Bowes museum a full day out pottering it's very relaxing
There's a pub in Cotherstone the fox and hounds via a shortcut from the site 10 minutes walk
The shower blocks are very clean only 2 showers in each block and require 20p but 20p is enough time to get yourself freshened up
We will be back staff are lovely the site is peaceful for us it was a gorgeous couple of nights

Doe Park has been our favourite site for many years, touring in both VW Campervans and now in our caravan. The warmth of the welcome from Alison and the the team is just wonderful. Many people return year after year and there is definitely a sense of being part of the Doe Park family for us. Everyone is friendly and welcoming and people are quick to offer help to their neighbours should the need arise.
The site has large, level, well spaced gravel pitches, set in very well kept grass. The toilet blocks are well maintained and spotlessly clean. There isn’t a playground for children but there is plenty of space for them to play on the field at the front.
Outside school holidays we love a pitch on the front for the wonderful views…. In school holiday time and at Bank Holiday weekends it’s a bit more lively with little people playing so if you’d prefer a little more peace and quiet then best to choose another area! The site is great for small children who love to run around but it would probably not suit tweens and teens.
The site is in a fantastic location. 5 minutes walk takes you into Cotherstone, where there are two pubs…the traditional Red Lion with lovely real ale, and The Fox & Hounds, where you can get a nice meal. Walking the other way on a path alongside fields takes you to Romaldkirk, where there is also a couple of pubs. Further up Teesdale is Middleton, where there are lots of nice cafes, pubs and restaurants.
There are a number of great walks in the Middleton area as well. Barnard castle is a real market town with great shops and loads of places to eat. Raby castle is an absolute must visit while you are in the area…it has a newly opened play area tin 2022 to add to its many attractions. If we are staying for a bit longer we’ll also do a day at Beamish and a day trip to the Lake District.
Doe Park is an old school, family run caravan park, really well run and welcoming, where the emphasis is on relaxing and enjoying the beautiful surroundings.

Lovely farm site in countryside - quite a large site set out in hedged field like areas. Good sized level hardstanding pitch.
Friendly staff.
Clean facilities although only 2 showers per block they never felt over capacity. Presume many people used their own facilities due to Covid. Needed 20p to operate shower - they were hot and lasted a good while.
Several walking tracks from the site -along which you could walk into the nearest village in around 30 - 40mins. Village with pubs a few minutes drive away.
Lots of doggie waste bins provided on site and at the start of the paths.
Near Barnard castle and High Force. Would recommend.

Doe Park helped us out when the site we were originally arrived at was unsuitable.
Having been before we knew the standards were high and they were just as good.
We use our own facilities so cannot comment on the site facilities but the water and disposal points were spotless.
The site is level, grass cut short (and collected) and plenty of space between pitches.
The walks along the old railway line are lovely.

Have to say we had the most friendly welcome at this site, the staff are lovely ! We where greeted on arrival with a smile shown the various pitches that where vacant and given a choice.
We were given plenty of information about the area and told if we needed anything we only had to ask.
The site is lovely a bus stops outside the site to take you in to castle Barnard, the facilities where clean.
Will def be returning to this site when next in the area.

Absolutely fabulous site, staff so friendly and informative. Always had time for a chat.
Told us about an archeogical dig that was going on. Went to see it we weren't disappointed.
Definitely coming back to do the walks that we didn't get round to doing.

Peaceful site. Friendly staff. Good sized pitches.
2 shower/toilet blocks. The older one only had 1 loo/shower per gender. We used this one as it was always clean.
The newer block had dirty toilets both times we looked in(and came straight out without using).
You need a 20p coin for the shower. It lasts a long time.
Beautiful location. Good walks nearby.
