We stayed on a hardstanding pitch for 6 nights in April 2026. The pitch was fine because we didn’t have an awning but if we had wanted to put up an awning, we wouldn’t have had anywhere to put the car as the grass beside the hard standing was very swampy due to the recent rain. There were a few wider hardstandings that would fit the car, caravan and awning but many were only wide enough for two out of the three.
The toilet block was also fine but felt more like style over substance. It looked really great and very stylish and was kept nice and clean but there were a few significant issues. Firstly the showers were operated by push button and only stayed on for a few seconds so you had to constantly keep pushing the button and secondly, when the water did come on there was very little water pressure so it wasn’t a pleasant experience.
The site had a nice bar which served food a few nights a week. We didn’t eat there but had a few drinks and there was a nice ambiance. There is a lovely big wood burning stove which made it feel nice and toasty on a cold evening.
The site is a bit remote which had its pros and cons. On the positive side the site was really peaceful with no road noise but on the negative side, you had to drive quite a bit on narrow roads to get anywhere.
The staff were very unobtrusive. There was always someone around if you needed anything but otherwise they left you to yourself which we like.
There seemed to be a lot on site for children and the site seemed really popular with families but as we didn’t have any children with us, we didn’t really pay much attention to this aspect of the site.
All in all, the site was fine, but I don’t think we will be rushing back.

Despite atrocious weather and only staying the 1 night I would stay here again if in the area.
It would be better if the food service lasted a little longer on a sunday.

Lovely site well looked after.
There’s a cosy bar on site we went in both nights. Plenty of space in between pitches.
Toilet block clean and tidy.
There’s a shop in reception we didn’t use it.
The bar serves food but we didn’t dine there.
There’s an indoor playground with climbing wall etc.
We went into Pateley Bridge had a walk along the river and a brew in a tea shop.
Overall lovely site well looked after.
We will certainly return next year, hopefully the weather will be better but then again this is Yorkshire.

We find ourselves returning to this site year after year. 2023 was no exception. The site is maintained to a really high standard.
The welcome is outstanding. Really well organised. They continually develop the scope of the site.
The nature trail is now well established.
The fishing lake looks really good now, as if it's been there forever. We love camping in tents, but they have PODs and Caravans for hire too. The location is perfect.
Close enough to Ripon for essentials. The surrounding area you are spoilt for choice in terms of things to see and do.
Just staying on the site is a joy, with the play areas for the children, outdoor AND indoors if the weather isn't so good. Safe enough to cycle round.
BRILLIANT!

Very well organised large campsite, map on arrival to show where pitches are.
Toilet and shower facilities are on a par with hotel standard and spotlessly clean.
Only downside was lack of availability in the restaurant.

What a fantastic campsite find. By far the best shower and toilet facilities, plenty of space in the shower cubicle.
We came we 4 year twins who loved the play Fort.
Plenty of pitch space and the only site I've not left for a whole day.
Would definitely recommend and will be returning.
Didn't need to use the indoor play barn

Great site with plenty of room between pitches and very clean toilet blocks.
Not busy on weekdays and the grounds are well manicured with great walks.
Good cycling on very quiet roads.
Carrie and Abbie in the Barn great hosts and super friendly.
